Makerworld was released in September of 2023. Makerworld is Bambu Labs' approach to an open-source and free 3d printing files library. You can share, use, and even profit from what you have created. Bambu Labs has many unique features that come with this free app and website one being the ease of use if you own a Bambu Lab 3d printer. You can connect your printer to the app directly and print the files with pre-made printing profiles without needing a slicer. This is a huge advantage and adds to the ease of use Bambu Labs goes from in their ecosystem.
Now onto the main topic of this post. Bambu Labs released a rewards system of sorts for their users that either post models, review models, or add print profiles. These actions will earn you points that can add up if you have enough to exchange for 40-dollar gift cards for the Bambu Labs store. These gift cards cost you around 490 points. The most successful way is to upload models you have made and when people print or comment you receive points. I have personally uploaded 3 models to my account and let them sit for the past 4 months and have made almost 220 dollars worth of gift cards. I usually earn around 1-2 gift cards a month which can be 2-4 spools of filament if you plan right. Currently, I am saving up for an AMS so that I can use Multicolor printing on my A1.
So, in conclusion I think Bambu Lab’s Makerworld is a huge hit for anybody in the 3d printing space or wants to be. Just upload a few models and earn points fast. It honestly feels like I am doing something I shouldn’t be with the money you can get from it. So, yes you should definitely look into Makerworld!
